Game On!

Years ago, before we had a washer and dryer, Joe and I would spend several hours a week at the laundromat. This started the tournament of the century. We began playing rummy to a million. Yes, a million. We figured it would give us something to do while our whites got whiter. The loser has to take the victor on a proper vacation. The idea was that it would take a while to reach a million points, giving the loser plenty of time to save some funds.
Since we no longer need to visit the laundromat we don't play as often. Recently with the colder evenings and a tight budget game night has returned. Now we include more games into the mix. I am sure glad we did- I was down 45,000 points. Now that we are including Dominoes and Scrabble I feel I'm making a come back. So if lucky will be a lady I may just get taken to Tahiti... in a couple more years.

'Tis the season...

With Thanksgiving just around the corner I thought it might be as good of a time as any to show off our holiday cards at Farouche. As you can probably tell, I have a soft spot for woodland creatures. Truly, I am a sucker for animals in general. In our house the cat even gets a Christmas gift. Usually it's low sodium smoked salmon. He dines it like a true gentleman- with a paw lick between servings as if it were the pat of a crisp linen napkin.
Storybook Silhouettes

May I introduce you to the sweetest storybook creations ever cut into paper. Elsita has a wide range of characters she has either handmade or lasercut for intricacy. Everything from Little Red Riding Hood to Alice in Wonderland, has been carefully crafted in silhouette. I think they would look darling in a nursery or child's reading nook. I certainly will be purchasing a set of the wooden bookmarks for stocking stuffers this year.

Que Jimenez

"My hands live to create...so I create."
These are the words of Kiandra Jimenez, the artist responsible for all of the handmade beauties at Que Jimenez. I adore her handbags- especially the ones made with sentiments and quotes hidden on them. They are like a little uplifting reminder you carry with you throughout your day. Her pieces are reminiscent of the style my mother had in the 60's, yet designed in a rather fresh and updated way. There are no flower children here- just good style.

Autumn Woodlands
I visited Etsy this morning and noticed so many wonderful woodland inspired items. They make we want to go for a long hike in the woods and sit in a quiet place I have never been before. Watching the birds and squirrels as I enjoy their home for awhile.
