Delicate

These delicate fruit bowls, with there hand-cut lacy designs, are by Boston artist Isabelle Abramson. A tedious process must be undertaken in hand cutting each piece before carefully firing the porcelain in to such perfect shapes. For more of here exquisite work stop by her site here.

Beware! Not for the squeamish...

A little creepy, perhaps I am in a Halloween mood. Take a peek at this slithering, serpent, snake and scales treasury. There are some special artists lurking in there... just look out where your walking to avoid any undo snake bites.

Monday Love

Pink.

Truthfully, I have thought about having lovely pink locks for nearly a decade now. There is just something about petal pink hair that I find rather delightful. Eventually, my thought process always leads back to the same two conclusions. First, I am rather shy and usually avoid drawing attention to myself... and any crayola hair color would most certainly accomplish this. Which is the direct cause of my second predicament. I blush easily. Not only do I turn all rosy when I am embarrassed but, more and more often it happens when I get any form of attention. I mean any attention. It is getting worse, not better, the older I get. So unless I want to look like I stuck my entire head in a bucket of Easter Egg dye, or figure out a way to stop going flush in a flash, I will have to be content with admiring the lovely pink coifs of others.
Ho, hum.

Have you ever had a little wish, that for whatever reason, you avoided?

Dirt

Yesterday I planted our very first winter vegetable garden. Every fall I absolutely remember to plant as many spring bulbs as I can squeeze into our little yard. Watching them bloom during the gloomy months of early spring makes me oh, so happy! But, somehow I always seem to forget about the cold weather vegetables that begin their season right about now. After the tomatoes, cucumbers, and other summer vegetables are done for the year there is a whole new season of splendid produce to grow.

This year I finally did it! We planted four different types of leaf lettuce, romaine, cabbage, bok choy, and the most lovely beets I have ever seen- their leaves are a beautiful rich magenta color. So, with dirt under my nails and anticipation for my first home grown salad, I declare you are here by warned snails, stay away!

The charming cold pressed soaps shown above are from Prunella Soap's in Portland. Stop by the next time you need a good lather!
