Ivory

Everlasting flowers made of celluloid in this 1950's brooch.

Lacy and White

Every year, about this time in early spring, I find myself attracted to lovely white lacy clothing. It doesn't matter if it is a shirt or a light sweater, I want them all.

Ants In The Pants

I am till trying to figure out what this was an ad for, underwear perhaps?! What ever this is, it was copyrighted, ha!

A Room Somewhere...

I absolutely adore this room.

I think this may just be a laundry room but, it reminds me of the mud room my Grandparents had attached to their old farmhouse. For those who may not be familiar with a mud room, it is just what the name suggests, a room to take off your boots and clean yourself up before going into the house.

My Grandmother would bring in fresh cut flowers or baskets of produce and wash them in the large double sink before heading into the kitchen. Against the other wall was a long bench where jackets, work gloves and a hat for every type of weather laid waiting. Every evening my Grandfather sat on the bench and removed his boots before proceeding in for dinner. Off to the left there was even a tiny bathroom for the days you had to do a little extra scrubbing before heading into the house. Grandma never had such a chic washer and dryer though... I think I will have to add that to my mud room someday.

Simply perfect.

Relaxing

This weekend I may very well break out our hammock from it's winter slumber and take a nap in the yard. We hope you have a relaxing weekend and come back to see us real soon!

How To Eat A Lobster

Okay, if you are a vegetarian or at all squeamish turn away.
I apologize for possibly offending your sensitive nature... but this vintage lobster tray is hilarious. I was so very close to buying this myself since it combines four of my favorite things- seafood, instructional guides, function and not to mention a little dose of kitsch. This may very well be the holy grail of fish grotto charm.

Bliss

This coffee can is bliss indeed. With great colors, charming illustrations and classic fonts, I wouldn't mind this greeting me when I make my cup-o-joe in the morning!

Flying Ace

There is a marvelous collection of vintage inspired wears over at the Shabby Apple. I think even the Red Baron would approve.

The Boy Frost

From racing cars and rockets, to lovebirds and wrestlers...
I find myself rather smitten with The Boy Frost. The clever fellow behind these creations is illustrator Tom Frost. Living in Bristol, he is as equally skilled with a brush as he is with a saw. I have shared a few of his pieces before and recently came across more of his delightful work here. Something tells me that you could give this man a pile of scrap along with a few buckets of paint, and he could build you anything.

Tranquil

A tranquil moment at dusk with such beautiful colors.
